With the high risk of wildfire, Cal Fire isn’t taking any chances. The weather was expected to be windy and dry throughout Wednesday into the evening, prompting Cal Fire to supply additional resources to its jurisdictions in the north state. “We are urging all of those in the Public Safety Power Shut-off impact areas to take action now to prepare for the extended periods of no power,” said Mark Ghilarducci, director of the California Governor’s Office of Emergency Safety. “We are coordinating closely with our state and local government counterparts to ensure all emergency response assets are made available to mitigate the impacts of this wind event.” Additionally, PG&E planned a weather-related power shut-off for much of Northern California, though the numbers of customers affected have dropped since the initial announcement.
