Battalion Chief John Muhr, a veteran with more than 30 years of firefighting experience including 10 years with the Cathedral City Fire Department, has been selected as Cathedral City’s new fire chief.
Muhr was one of six finalists chosen to interview for the position through a national search conducted by Bob Murray and Associates, city officials said Tuesday.
“We were fortunate to have an outstanding candidate for the fire chief position in our very own department,” said City Manager Charles P. McClendon in announcing the hiring. “Chief Muhr is well-known and respected throughout the community as a thoughtful and compassionate leader who puts public safety first.”
