A Sacramento County coffee company is doing its best to give back to the community. What makes Muertos Coffee so unique is that it’s run by firefighters. In a small section of a giant warehouse in Rancho Cordova, the family-run business is quickly growing. "When I think about it, it's pretty special," Max Held said. Before there were shirts, mugs and hats, there was only the thirst for a good cup of Joe. "I was tired of drinking coffee that I considered not good or crap," Eli Held added. "I work at a station that is called the night train. We do not get sleep very often. We are running calls a lot." Eli Held is a Folsom firefighter by night and now a coffee maker by day. "A lot of firefighters have second jobs," Held said. Three years ago he created Muertos Coffee out of his parents' Vacaville garage on a roaster he got from Mexico.
