Dozens filled the American Legion on Tuesday night for the Fort Morgan Fire Department's annual banquet.
Assistant Fire Chief DJ Eicher welcomed the crowd of active and retired firefighters, members of the Rural Fire Protection Board, several city staff members and council members and their families. Fire Chief Mark Frasco was unable to attend the event.
Fort Morgan Mayor Ron Shaver, Councilmember Kevin Lindell and City Manager Jeff Wells attended Tuesday's banquet. "Tonight we honor everyone who has made the fire department what it is today," Eicher said. "Everyone here has donated time and money to the evolution of our department in these ever-changing times." The assistant fire chief said they had 103 calls for 2019 so far as of Tuesday night, compared to 108 around the same time in 2018. He said they are "on target" for the same levels as last year and are preparing for the imminent grass fire season.
