Windsor-Severance Fire Protection District is poised to get the extra money it asked for to deal with growth within its boundaries.
The district's Ballot Issue 7A had more than 53% support from Weld and Larimer voters, according to unofficial results updated Wednesday by the Colorado Secretary of State's Office.
The fire district asked voters to approve a property tax increase to fund two new fire stations.
“As the Fire Chief, I would like to say thank you to all who voted to continue to provide excellent emergency services for our growing community,” Chief Kris Kazian said in a press release. “We work very hard at WSFR to be effective and efficient with the revenue we are entrusted with. I can assure you going forward, there will be a continued effort to work to maximize our efforts and maintain great services to everyone in our fire district."
