Two Colorado Springs firefighters deployed to Florida on Friday as part of Colorado Task Force 1, a multi-station disaster response team, in preparation for Hurricane Dorian.
CO-TF1 is a Colorado-based team under the Federal Emergency Management Agency and comprises approximately 200 highly trained firefighters, paramedics, physicians, structural engineers, hazardous materials technicians, heavy rigging specialists, and canine handlers. The personnel come from 28 public and private agencies in Colorado.
According to a Tweet from the Colorado Springs Fire Department, the two CSFD firefighters will be a part of the team assigned to water rescues.
