Smoke from wildfires Sunday could be seen across the state, exacerbated by hot, dry and windy conditions. In Bailey, smoke could be seen from a wildland fire in Park County, according to the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office. Authorities evacuated people along County Road 64A and County Road 64B in the area of the Pine Gulch subdivision, the sheriff’s office said on Twitter. The agency is assisting Park County. State officials reminded residents to avoid smoke and be aware of air quality conditions, particularly for young children and the elderly. In Larimer County, fire crews and the sheriff’s office responded to a fire Sunday afternoon near Red Feather Lakes, with helicopters and air tankers operating in the area, according to the sheriff’s office on Twitter.
