A two-year-old statewide fire commission has already enacted substantial change for departments and firefighters across the state, and Pueblo Fire Captain Bryce Boyer hopes to continue that streak for the second half of his four-year term.
Boyer is one of 24 voting members on the Colorado Fire Commission, a group created to review, assess and offer recommendations regarding the current fire management practices in Colorado. The executive director of the Colorado Department of Natural Resources appointed Boyer in 2019 after an email sparked the fire captain's interest and he sent in an application. ... "I want to be a voice for Pueblo, as well as Southern Colorado and all firefighters," he said, noting a wide range of fire conditions in the region and state taken into consideration while developing further legislation that directly impacts firefighters and other fire stakeholders.
