A fire broke out at Kimberly-Clark Corporation in town on Sunday afternoon, sending various fire departments to the area as a precaution. The blaze broke out around 4:30 p.m. and fire units from New Milford and surrounding towns ended up responding for what was reportedly a one-alarm fire in the building at 58 Pickett District Road. Within about 15 minutes, reports indicated that firefighters on scene said the fire was knocked down and they were checking for hotspots or any extension. The Water Witch Hose Co. #2 said the company was dispatched for a fire in the paper production machine at Kimberly-Clark.
Both New Milford fire headquarters and Lanesville Station responded, as well as mutual aid from Gaylordsville, Northville, Brookfield and Danbury’s air support truck from Citizen’s Hose.
