Investigators are considering the possibility that a two-alarm fire that destroyed a house Friday night might have been deliberately set, a statement from the mayor’s office Saturday said. Friday night there was a major two-alarm structure fire at 22 Richards Place, owned by the Haven Group LLC, according to the news release from the mayor’s office. The fire was reported around 10:30 p.m. and was under control about an hour and 15 minutes later. Fire Chief James O’Brien from the Center District Fire Department told Mayor Nancy R. Rossi, “The cause is currently inconclusive, pending the outcome of the ongoing investigation,” she said. On scene Saturday morning, Rossi said, Fire Marshall Keith Flood said, “The fire remains under investigation at this time, and it is looking like an incendiary fire.”
