A cat died in a two-alarm fire that heavily damaged a three-unit house on Wallace Street Saturday afternoon. Nobody was injured. A neighboring property at 17 Wallace St. received side exterior damage and interior smoke damage. The fire at 21-23 Wallace St. was reported at 6:28 p.m., Deputy Fire Chief Scott Morgan said. Fire crews found flames starting on the second floor and extending to the third floor, Morgan said. The blaze took an hour and half to get under control, Morgan said. Crews began packing up their equipment after 9 p.m. The last of the four engines and two ladder trucks that had been called to the scene left around 10:40 p.m.
