A woman and a firefighter are in the hospital after a house fire in Shelton on Sunday, according to the Shelton Fire Department. A woman in her late 60s was taken to the hospital for smoke inhalation and other injuries. She was the only person in the home at the time of the fire, firefighters said. The woman had to be pulled out of the home on Florence Drive, crews said. A firefighter at the scene also broke his ankle in the home, the fire department said. Firefighters said both the woman and firefighter are being treated at Bridgeport Hospital. Crews said no one is unaccounted for in the residence.
