2 hurt in New Canaan head-on crash

Two people were injured in a head-on crash on Smith Ridge Road on Friday morning. New Canaan Fire Chief Jack Hennessey told News 12 it took 20 minutes to extricate a driver from a vehicle. The crash that happened around 7 a.m. involved a van and an Acura sedan. The road was temporarily shut down while emergency workers cleared the crash. The two drivers were transported to Norwalk Hospital. The extent of their injuries is not known at this time.
