A Plainville man injured in a house fire Thursday has died, according to a hospital spokesman. Stephen Androwski, 45, was taken to the Connecticut Burn Center at Bridgeport Hospital after a fire broke out at his home, at 20 Fairbanks St., around 10:20 a.m. On Friday morning, a spokesman for Bridgeport Hospital said Androwski died Thursday night. Androwski was initially taken to the Hospital of Central Connecticut in New Britain before being flown aboard the Life Star helicopter to the burn center. He was found on the second floor of the home, where the fire started, according to firefighters. Medics performed CPR on the 45-year-old before he left in an ambulance. According to Larry Sutherland, Plainville fire marshal, firefighters encountered heavy fire and smoke conditions when they arrived at the two-story, two-family home. The fire was consuming the second floor of the house,” the fire marshal said Thursday.
