No injuries were reported in a third-floor fire that started in the kitchen at 173 High St. Tuesday afternoon.
The incident was reported around 2:15 p.m. Crews were able to arrive and quickly knock down the fire, Deputy Fire Chief Paul Walsh said.
It was initially reported that there was someone trapped on the third floor, but fire crews searched and found no one, Walsh said. Everyone in the three-story building, with a residential unit on each floor, was able to get out of the building uninjured. All three floors were occupied at the time of the fire.
Fire damage was contained to the kitchen area of the third floor. Water and smoke damage was present throughout the entire three-story building.
Eleven kids and nine adults were displaced across all three units of the building and the American Red Cross was contacted to help them.
