Greenwich firefighter Robert Despres has been doing some heavy lifting and running this week, while in the camouflage gear of the U.S. Air Force. Despres is serving overseas with the 332nd Air Expeditionary Wing as a firefighter. The Greenwich firefighters' union posted a picture of him and explained that their colleague took part in a "virtual" five-kilometer run. But it was harder than that, as the Greenwich firefighters noted. "Robbie ran with some other members of his unit while carrying a 200-pound mannequin and wearing their battle rattle. Great job by Robbie and his crew," the fire union commented. Despres and his Air Force mates were raising money for the Wounded Warrior Project. The race was evidently held in conjunction with Veterans Day.
