A couple of weeks ago, a nighttime wind and rain storm knocked over a fence at 103 Tremont St.
The maintenance man for the company that manages that property almost postponed showing up Wednesday to repair it as he wanted to because of the weather forecast that day.
But Primo Arroyo, 54, of Manchester, said he wanted to get the work done, showed up and is now credited for saving two people’s lives by helping them out of a neighboring house during a fire.
“I think God put me in the right place at the right time,” he said.
A fire broke out in the basement at 101 Tremont St. Wednesday and was reported around 11:10 a.m. But before fire crews got there, Arroyo said he saw thick black smoke pouring out of the basement windows and went to the front of the house.
