City firefighters quickly extinguished a vehicle fire on Interstate 95 north Saturday night. Fire units were dispatched to I-95 north just before Exit 28 for a reported vehicle that crashed into the barrier on the side of the highway. The first arriving unit reported that there was a vehicle fire in the engine compartment. Firefighters immediately stretched a line and worked to put the flames out. When the second engine arrived on scene, a second line was stretched. As crews worked to get the fire out, the right lane of travel between Exit 27A and Exit 28 was closed to traffic.
