A brand new fire engine is headed to the Cos Cob fire station.
Earlier this week, the Greenwich Fire Department took delivery of a Seagrave truck, capable of holding 750 gallons of water.
The new truck is receiving some final touches to its communications gear, and extra equipment is being installed. The rig will be put in service in coming days, according to the department. It will be the new Engine 2.
The Seagrave Marauder, a pump truck, will be housed at the fire station on the Post Road, which is also a base for volunteer firefighters and fire police. The department’s current fleet includes thirteen engines, three ladder trucks and a heavy-rescue rig.
