A house fire destroyed a second-floor bedroom in a Litchfield Turnpike home late Wednesday night. “Nobody got hurt. Everybody is out of the house,” Washington Fire Chief Darryl Wright said. The Washington Fire Department received first reports at 9:08 p.m. about the fire at the 45 Litchfield Turnpike home, Wright said, and Washington firefighters were on-scene at 9:30 p.m. Firefighters from Bantam, New Milford and Northville also responded to the fire at the two-story, wooden-frame home. A family of a husband and wife with two children live at the home, Wright said, acknowledging he wasn’t sure if anyone else resided at the home. Wright said the fire completely destroyed an upstairs bedroom while a half of another bedroom faces severe damage. Other parts of the home have smoke and water damage, he said.
