Town firefighters knocked down a structure fire Thursday at the O.F. Mossberg & Sons gun manufacturer headquarters on Grasso Avenue, according to the department.
Firefighters were called to 7 Grasso Ave. for a working fire at approximately 9:15 a.m., North Haven Deputy Chief Scott Martus said.
“It extended up into the roof, and upon arrival we had heavy smoke and heavy fire showing,” Martus said.
The fire was contained to a small portion of the facility and extinguished before 10:30 a.m., he said.
While a formal investigation has not yet begun, the fire appears to have broken out in a manufacturing portion of the facility and involved oil, Martus said. No one was injured in the blaze, Martus said. Workers evacuated the building after an automatic fire alarm went off, he said.
