Firefighters evacuated residents from a Woodlawn Avenue apartment building after a fire prompted a smoke condition on the second floor, according to dispatch reports. Fire units responded to 63 Woodlawn Ave. for a report of possible food left on or in the stove and smoke on the second floor. At least one resident was treated for smoke inhalation by medics on scene. The resident was transported to a local hospital for further evaluation and treatment. A second ambulance was called to the scene to standby in case any other residents needed to be checked out. Crews evacuated the second floor of the apartment. Although firefighters did not report any active flames, they did indicate there was smoke in the building.
