A home near Black Rock is uninhabitable after a fire Wednesday, according to a Fairfield official.
The incident occurred about 5 p.m. at a house on Shoreham Terrace, according to Lt. Robert Smith, who said the blaze took about 30 minutes to extinguish. A video posted on the Fairfield Fire Department's Facebook page shows firefighters on the roof of the home Wednesday as smoke billowed from the structure.
No one was hurt, Smith said, but the kitchen and attic of the Cape Cod home saw extensive damage and the building is uninhabitable.
"There was a lot of damage to the inside of the house," Smith said. The cause and origin of the fire remained under investigation Wednesday night.
