Route 39 was the site of two single-vehicle crashes Thursday evening, the first of which involved the extrication of a driver from an upside down SUV.
Firefighters and an ambulance from Sherman were called to a single-vehicle accident near Leach Hollow Road shortly before 5:50 p.m., according to dispatch reports.
State police and New Fairfield volunteer firefighters also responded.
At the scene, first responders found a dark-colored SUV upside down near a utility pole with at least one individual trapped inside.
At 5:58 p.m., a first responder at the scene said he was tending to a “responsive” female patient and that firefighters were in the process of trying to remove her from the vehicle.
The driver was eventually extricated and only minor injuries were reported, according to state police.
