PHOTOS: For years the house at 577 E. Main St. was the eyesore of its neighborhood, Brian Cofrancesco says.
Then East Hartford resident Joseph Dagon bought it for $30,000 in July, and things began to change. The badly overgrown yard was trimmed down beautifully. The roof was repaired. Several dumpsters filled with construction debris and trash got hauled away, and Dagon and other family members were hard working, responsive to complaints and happy to talk about their plans for flipping the historic home, Cofrancesco said.
But on Monday, the 2½-story house was back to being an eyesore: A two-alarm fire gutted the building on Saturday morning.
Firefighters received several 911 calls at about 5:45 a.m.
