A car burst into flames after a chain-reaction crash in Interstate-84 in Tolland early Saturday morning, fire officials and state police said. The fire broke out at 4:41 a.m. A crew from the Tolland Fire Department and state police found the vehicle ablaze on the right shoulder about 2 miles east of Exit 67 on the westbound side of the highway. Because of the intensity of the fire, troopers had had to close the right and center lanes. The fire began after a three-vehicle collision, state police said. No injuries were reported.
