While roads look clear Thursday morning, up to six inches of snow is headed towards the Litchfield County area between this afternoon and Friday, according to Bethlehem Fire Chief Ken Le Clerc.
“It will be a long-term duration storm,” LeClerc said. “We are advising everyone to be careful because it’s going to be hard for the crews to keep up with that long a duration of storm.”
LeClerc said he doesn’t anticipate any loss of electricity during the storm, however, since the predicted storm is not expected to produce heavy, wet snow.
According to the National Weather Service, Litchfield County is expected to receive a daytime snow accumulation of 1 to 2 inches. Tonight, another 1 to 3 inches is possible.
New Milford highway foreman Mike Boucher said within the hour, “it will be snowing heavy again for awhile.”
