City firefighters battled a two-alarm blaze on Ochsner Place for nearly two hours on Tuesday morning. Shortly after 9 a.m., fire units were dispatched to the area of Ochsner Place and Main Street for a reported structure fire at a dwelling on Ochsner Place, the fire department said. First arriving fire units reported “heavy smoke” coming from a 2.5-story wood structure on Ochsner Place, according to initial dispatch reports. Fire units requested the dispatcher send police units to shut down traffic near the intersection of Old Town Road and Main Street so crews could stretch a line to a hydrant to help extinguish the flames. The recall was relayed around 10:30 a.m. Fire officials at the scene requested the Red Cross to request to help five adults displace by the fire.
