A stretch of Route 7 north was closed for less than an hour Tuesday morning as first responders handled a crash and vehicle fire.
Units were dispatched to Route 7 north near Exit 1 around 8:30 a.m. for a report of a vehicle fire.
Fire units on scene indicated shortly after arriving that a crash preceded the fire, and that one person needed to be evaluated by medics, according to initial dispatch reports. It was unclear how many vehicles were involved.
Route 7 north is closed between exits 2 and 3 because of the vehicle fire, the state Department of Transportation said.
Around 8:40 a.m., units on scene indicated that everyone involved was accounted for and would be checked out by medics, according to initial dispatch reports.
Connecticut State Police troopers also responded.
