Fire crews responded to two separate fires in Shelton within one hour on Thursday afternoon, authorities said.
No injuries were reported in either fire, according to authorities.
Shelton fire crews and police responded to reports of a working shed fire on Overlook Drive around 3:15 p.m., according to the Shelton Fire Department. Once the fire was extinguished, crews spent 30 minutes extinguishing lingering smoldering areas.
While crews operated at the scene of the first fire on Overlook Drive, a second fire was reported around 3:58 p.m. on Meadowlark Drive, authorities said.
When fire crews arrived they found no visible fire but an abnormal amount of smoke coming from an active fire in the fireplace of the occupied home, authorities said.
