Firefighters and medics in Bridgeport revived three people suffering from suspected fentanyl-related overdoses early Friday, according to a city official.
Around 4 a.m., fire units responded along with police and medics to East Main Street for a report of two people who were unresponsive, said Scott Appleby, the city’s director of emergency communications and emergency management.
He said while first responders were there, a third person was overcome by a “drug interaction.” Appleby said a preliminary investigation indicated the overdoses were caused by possible fentanyl.
The three victims revived by firefighters and medics were taken to the hospital for further treatment, Appleby said. There was no further information on their conditions. He said the victims were all together at the time of the overdoses, in what he believed was a business.
