— Two people were taken to a hospital after inhaling smoke from a kitchen fire at a three-story apartment complex Tuesday afternoon, according to fire officials.
In a statement, Deputy Fire Chief Michael McCallum said firefighters were called to the complex, located on South Main Street, around 4 p.m. Smoke was emitting from the front of the building when crews arrived, McCallum said.
Firefighters ultimately extinguished the kitchen fire in approximately 20 minutes, however two of the building's occupants were taken to Norwalk Hospital to be treated for smoke inhalation, McCallum said.
