Two boaters were rescued Saturday morning after the Norwalk fire boat responded to a mayday call from a 45-foot boat reported to be sinking, said Norwalk Deputy Fire Chief Steve Shay. The Norwalk Police Department Marine Unit was the first to respond to a vessel taking on water between Greens Ledge and Roton Point, according to the Norwalk Police Department on Facebook. The two people aboard were initially picked up by a passing boat and later on brought to shore by the Norwalk Fire Department. The 48-foot boat sank in about 20 feet of water. Sea Tow is recovering the vessel. No injuries were reported.
