Bridgeport firefighters doused a two-alarm fire at an abandoned building on Oak Street Sunday night, according to fire officials. The blaze was called in at about 9:30 p.m. Initial reports did not know if there were any occupants inside, but fire officials said in addition to firefighters, police and paramedics also responded to the scene, and no injuries were reported as of Sunday night. Upon arrival, the first firefighters at the scene were greeted by "heavy fire exposure" from the A and B side of the building, and the second alarm was quickly called in. "There were two exposure buildings and master streams were used quickly to keep fire spread to the exposure buildings minimal," wrote Scott Appleby, the city's director of the Office of Emergency Management, in a statement.
