Police are investigating after the playscape at Doolittle Park was intentionally set on fire on Saturday, according to officials.
Police responded to Doolittle Park at 80 South Elm Street around 11:05 p.m. on Oct. 29 to investigate a suspicious fire, according to Sgt. Stephen Jaques.
Arriving officers found the playscape fully engulfed in flames, Jaques said.
The Wallingford Fire Department responded to the scene and extinguished the fire. A small fire was also started in a nearby porta-potty, according to Jaques.
Jaques said the Wallingford Fire Marshal determined that the fire was intentionally set.
