VIDEO: A two-alarm fire damaged a Bridgeport flooring supply store, officials say. The fire happened at King Floor Supplies 2, located at 215 Island Brook Ave., just after 10 p.m. on Monday. Firefighters from Fairfield and Stratford were called in to assist in putting out the fire.
Fire officials say the building houses hardwood floors and adhesives, so there was a concern with the chemical storage in the building as crews were fighting the fire.
Nearby businesses evacuated as a precaution.
Bridgeport Fire Department Chief Lance Edwards says fire crews searched the building and found no one inside.
They say no one was hurt.
