VIDEO: Firefighters were called to the Wampanoag Country Club in West Hartford Sunday, just a day after a heavy fire in the building was extinguished Saturday, according to town Fire Chief Greg Priest.
The fire, reported nearly 24 hours after fire crews were first called to Wampanoag Drive, consumed a "majority of the structure" and caused partial structural collapses "throughout the entire building," Priest said. No one was hurt as a result of the fire, and Priest said that there was no information to suggest anyone had been inside the building at the time. According to Priest, firefighters received a report at 2:18 a.m. from a nearby resident that fire was visible from the top of the Wampanoag Country Club building.
A fire crew arrived at 2:23 a.m. and called for additional fire crews after finding a heavy fire through the roof.
