Milford House Fire Leaves 3 Injured

The Delaware State Fire Marshal's Office says three people - including two firefighters - were injured in a house fire Milford. Fire officials say the fire that happened at around 11:30 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 7 in the 4300 block of McColley Rd., just off of Cedar Beach Rd. The Carlisle Fire Company responded to the two-story structure, and immediately requested assistance from neighboring fire companies. Authorities say the occupant of the house discovered the fire and escaped with minor injuries. He was transported to Bayhealth Sussex Campus and treated and released for first-degree burns to his hands and face. Two firefighters also sustained minor injuries during suppression operations and were also treated and released at Bayhealth Sussex Campus.
