A Mill Creek house was badly damaged Wednesday morning after some candles sparked a fire in a second-floor bedroom, the state Fire Marshal's Office said. The fire was reported about 4:30 a.m. in the 300 block of Mitchell Drive. The fire marshal’s office said the candles ignited "combustibles" in the bedroom, setting off a blaze that caused an estimated $50,000 in damages. Investigators have determined that the fire was accidental. No one was injured.
