PHOTOS: Three people were injured in a crash involving a tractor-trailer, a box truck and a van on Interstate 95 near Newark on Monday morning.
The crash happened just before 10 a.m. in the southbound lanes in the area of Otts Chapel Road.
A box truck was traveling in the center lane and struck the rear of a van and then proceeded to hit a truck pulling a flatbed trailer, according to Master Cpl. Derek Underwood, a spokesman for Delaware State Police.
"The impact pushed the box truck on top of the trailer, where it came to rest," Underwood said.
One person was flown to Christiana Hospital in critical condition, according to New Castle County Paramedics. Two others were taken there by ambulance, one in serious condition and one in stable condition.
None of the injuries are thought to be life-threatening, Underwood said.
Firefighters from Aetna Hose, Hook and Ladder Company, Singerly Fire Company and Belvedere Fire Company responded to the scene.
