Wilmington man seriously hurt in Claymont crash, officials say

A 63-year-old Wilmington man was taken to the hospital with serious injuries after his vehicle overturned in a crash on Harvey Road in Claymont Wednesday morning. The man crashed into a car driven by a 27-year-old Claymont man who was trying to turn from I-95 to Harvey Road, Delaware State Police said. Police said the Wilmington man's car overturned and he was trapped inside. He was freed by firefighters and taken to a local hospital by helicopter, according to a New Castle County Paramedics Facebook post. Claymont Fire Company and Delaware State Police Aviation Section also were dispatched to the crash, the post said.
