PHOTOS: One person was injured March 14 after a two-car collision on Route 1 that caused one vehicle to overturn in a marsh. Emergency responders with the Rehoboth Beach Volunteer Fire Co., Sussex EMS and Delaware State Police responded to the crash at 8:48 p.m. on Route 1 south of Dewey Beach near the Life Saving Station, said Warren Jones, spokesman for the Rehoboth Beach Volunteer Fire Co. A silver Acura SUV was traveling southbound on Route 1 in the right lane when it was struck by a Subaru Forester following behind it, said Master Cpl. Melissa Jaffe of the Delaware State Police. The Subaru then drove off the roadway into the marsh, she said. Jones said the car overturned in the marsh and the driver, a 47-year-old Millville woman, was trapped inside when responders arrived. Responders extricated the woman from the vehicle, and she was transported by ambulance to Beebe Healthcare where she was treated for nonlife-threatening injuries, Jaffe said.
