Coronavirus continues to show record spread in Delaware

New cases of coronavirus continue to trend as high as Delaware has ever seen. New cases hovered around the 400 mark the past four days - including the second highest daily number ever last Thursday - 477. That’s pushed the state’s 7 day rolling average for new cases above 326 per day. That’s the highest it’s ever been. 395 confirmed cases were reported for Sunday, moving Delaware over the 29,000 mark since the start of the pandemic The state also reported two new deaths over the weekend. Delaware’s death toll is now at 736. Hospitalizations also continue to trend upwards. The 141 statewide Sunday is the highest since June 3rd. 31 people are considered critically ill. And the state’s average of positive tests is also up and now sits at 5.5 percent. Almost all statewide coronavirus data has been on a general upward trend since around the start of the month.
