An unusual "emergency" brought firefighters, an ambulance crew and mechanics from a nearby car dealership to the south Smyrna Wawa this morning, Jan. 6.
At 7:31 a.m., Citizens’ Hose Company of Smyrna and American Legion Ambulance Station 64 were dispatched for a service call at Wawa, 500 Jimmy Drive, near southbound Route 13 and the Route 1 interchange.
When emergency crews arrived, they were directed to a Nissan Altima where the driver had a finger stuck in between the car's front seat rails, according to the fire company's website and confirmed with Citizens' Hose Company public information officer Chris Hudson.
The driver was attempting to retrieve a key fob which had fallen beneath the seat. Emergency crews worked with mechanics from Willis Chevrolet Buick to disassemble the seat and free the driver's finger.
