Firefighters from multiple Southwest Florida units completed rescue training with dummies on Wednesday. At Station 74 in Fort Myers, members of the Southwest Florida Urban Search & Rescue Team practiced high-angle rope rescue training. These types of rescues are used if someone was stuck on the side of a building or inside a ravine, according to a Facebook post from the Iona McGregor Fire District. Members of Iona McGregor Fire District, Estero Fire Rescue, Tice Fire Department, East Manatee Fire Rescue District and EMS met at the training tower. They periodically work together to keep up the skills needed when responding to a variety of incidents.
