Officials at two local fire departments in Palm Beach County are once again reminding everyone to take precautions and stay safe during the cold weather. Florida is known for its warm weather, but according to the WPBF 25 First Alert Weather Team, those temperatures are expected to dip. Delray Beach Fire Rescue Public Information Officer Dani Moschella wants to make sure if you're going to heat your home to stay warm, you do it safely. "Don't use your candles that (have)open flame for heat, don't use grills; we’ve seen people bring their portable grills inside,” Moschella said. “Don't use your oven to heat the house." If you plan to use central heating and smell something burning Palm Beach Gardens Fire Rescue Division. Chief Cory Bessette said it's probably dust.
