A speeding car crashed into an Orlando fire engine early Sunday that had pulled over on Interstate 4 to help a stalled vehicle, according to the department.
The crash happened around 2:40 a.m. near Orange Blossom Trail. Four firefighters who were inside the truck were taken to a local hospital for monitoring, the department said.
Firefighters removed the driver and passenger from the car that had been speeding and they were also taken to a local hospital. Their condition is unknown.
“Incredibly, there are no fatalities from this crash,” the department wrote on its Facebook page. “Slow down. Move over. It’s the law.”
The incident on Sunday was the second time in less than two months that a vehicle collided with a fire truck that was responding to an accident.
On December 21, three firefighters were injured when a vehicle hit the engine parked on State Road 408.
