The City of Coral Springs Commission voted and approved the selection of Assistant City Manager/Fire Chief Frank Babinec to serve as the new Coral Springs City Manager. The City Attorney will negotiate an employment contract agreement for Babinec. The decision to select Coral Springs’ new City Manager from within the current management team was agreed upon when Goodrum announced his departure on October 30. Babinec will officially assume the position as City Manager when Goodrum returns to Sugar Land in January 2020. Goodrum is confident in the Commission’s decision, saying, “Frank is a proven leader who has served as an Assistant City Manager for the last two years."
