Authorities from Palm Beach County Animal Care and Control said they want to know who set two cats on fire near a park. "It's hard to imagine someone could do something like this," said Capt. Dave Walesky, of Palm Beach County Animal Care and Control. Walesky said West Palm Beach firefighters responded to a fire someone had set at Fogelman Park around 11 p.m. Sunday. When they arrived, they found a pile of clothes burning under a tree. Walesky said they also found evidence of a heinous crime. "In all of that was two cats in a wire carrier that were deceased, so it becomes apparent that someone intentionally lit this stuff on fire, which includes these live cats," Walesky said. Walesky said whoever set the fire could face felony animal cruelty charges.
