It’s been six months since Hurricane Dorian devastated the Bahamas, and one group in North Central Florida is still lending a hand. Ocala Fire Rescue has donated fire fighting truck equipment to a department in the Bahamas recovering from the Category 4 hurricane. A group of representatives from both fire departments, as well as city officials, presented the keys to the Marsh Harbour Volunteer Fire & Rescue Department Thursday. Firefighter units were able to find a 1992 Titan aircraft rescue fire fighting truck (ARFF), which was retired from the OFR fleet in 2018. During the storm, a department in Central Abaco was left with a dire need of everything from an apparatus to gear. Equipped with separate tanks, it’s capable of holding large amounts of water and an extinguishing agent.
